CUBA – TIME TRAVELLING IMPRESSIONS OF A SUNNY ISLAND
Jutta Studer & Verena Wüthrich will tell us about their bicycle tour and the colourful city of Havana
CUBA IN SPRING 2012
A cycling tour in the Caribbean what a crazy idea! But it turned out to be the perfect way to smell, feel and see parts of the largest island in the Caribbean: Cuba.
The Western part with its mochotes where tobacco is produced on the sandy red earth. The Southern part with its colourful villages like Trinidad. Getting an idea about the revolution while passing by posters with slogans of the government. And last but not least: the turquoise sea and perfectly white sand on the North beaches in Varadero.
The capital Havana is another story we will tell you in pictures.
And if there is time we will give you some impressions of the South East where nearby Santiago de Cuba the local saint La Virgen del Cobre gave us the greatly needed protection to arrive savely back in Havana after a 1000km journey by car sharing the motorway with horse carts, pedestrians and cyclists.
